Hi, I'm Tom Albro and I am running for Seattle Port Commissioner, Position 4. Thank you for taking an interest in my campaign, and more importantly in the public enterprise that's critical to our economic vitality – the Port of Seattle.

Today it is more important than ever that the Port's Commissioners, who are its governing authority, provide effective oversight and strategic guidance. In these uncertain times we cannot afford to have the Port of Seattle stumbling along as it carries out its economic development mission. Frankly, the ability of the Port to achieve its mission is being hindered by scandal, an ongoing lack of public trust and a failure to maintain focus on being globally competitive.

I am running for Port Commissioner to help ensure our Port is intelligently reformed and keeps its focus on being an economic engine. We need both to best serve the people of King County and our region. My priorities as your Port Commissioner will be to:

  • Grow our job base by improving the Port’s competitiveness and protecting its industrial land uses.
  • Complete needed reforms and hold management accountable by demanding openness from Port staff and vigilant governance by the Commission.
  • Reduce environmental impact with smart operating practices, innovation and wise stewardship.

I hope I can earn your support and your vote during this campaign. You can learn more about me, my campaign, and the Port of Seattle itself by visiting other parts of this site.

I welcome your input, questions, and involvement.

Thanks again for your interest,
